Work Environment Considering Emotional Intelligence Quotient of Workers in Hybrid Workstyle

Abstract

Emotional intelligence quotient (EQ) is defined as the ability to perceive, control, and evaluate emotions. Communication and breaks while working in an office and working from home differ. Therefore, in hybrid workstyle, taking EQ into account and enabling workers with various attributes to work actively is important for creating work environment to improve the workplace productivity. This study aims to identify the effects of differences in the EQ of workers on their ease of activities and workplace productivity in hybrid workstyle for creating work environment to improve the workplace productivity. Regardless of EQ of workers, Questionnaires were conducted during the summer of 2020. The results showed that communication was more difficult while working from home than when working in the office in hybrid workstyle. Additionally, while working from home in hybrid workstyle workers with a high EQ engage in intellectual activities more easily than those with a low EQ.
