Zeta function derived from the boundary element method

Abstract

A Selberg type zeta function is derived from the semiclassical limit of the boundary element method. It implies that the boundary element method with replacing the Hankel function by its asymptotic form can be interpreted as a type of resummation of the periodic orbit sum.
