A coordinated multipoint transmission method employing vehicle position information for taxi radio systems

    This paper proposes a simple coordinated multipoint (CoMP) transmission method for taxi radio systems. The feature of the proposed method is to realize CoMP only by using the vehicle position information, which enables us to free from a significant renewal of facilities. The proposed approach is inspired by the idea that the channel capacity based on the inter-cell interference (ICI) can be represented by the communication distance which is easily obtained from the vehicle position information. In addition, the proposed method is applicable to more than 3 cells by using the same approach applied to 2 cells. The effectiveness of the proposed method is demonstrated in comparison with the case of no coordination (w/o CoMP) under the practical scenario based on the taxi radio system.
