title = "A microfluidic mammalian cell sorter with thermal gelation polymer solution",
abstract = "We report a development of an on-chip sorting system for fluorescently labeled mammalian cells based on a reversible sol-gel transition of thermoreversible gelation polymer controlled by local heating with infrared laser. The new system allowed to utilize the energy from the infrared laser irradiation efficiently to achieve an extensive gelation of the polymer in the channel. This enabled the new system to sort mammalian cells with 97% viability in the large channel with 50-100 μm in depth and width. Moreover, we succeeded in sorting with 100% recovery and over 99% purity by introducing a 3D flow focusing.",
