Each of the circled-regions diversified because of its topographical features and the use of each of the principle residences of Hakka. After the Meiji restoration, the land use in the periphery of each region developed in its own way as a result of the characteristics of the circled-region and/or the principle residences of Hakka. Consequently, by combining the individual features and characteristics of each Hakka residence, modern Kanazawa is expected to emerge with brand new, distinctive and diversified characteristics.
