In order to support the object locating and information retrieving, the objects in IoT (Internet of Things) have to be named uniquely. However, due to the historical and actual reasons, there are multiple object naming schemes proposed and this heterogeneousness will continue in the future. The most serious problem of this phenomenon is that the name resolution is accordingly controlled by the special organization, and then the security and sovereignty of IoT cannot be guaranteed. Although many distributed IoT name resolution schemes have been proposed to achieve peer-to-peer equal resolution, each scheme has its fatal shortcoming to stop its actual deployment. In this paper, a novel scheme is proposed for the peer-to-peer equal name resolution in IoT, supporting the current and future heterogeneous object naming schemes. In our scheme, the Hash function is used to translate the meaningful name to a flat string without any semantic meaning. In this way, the resolution can be managed by any organization and based on any mature scheme. Then two different resolution schemes based on it are discussed and compared.
