A novel phase-locked loop (NPLL) for synchronization between two mode-locked lasers was developed. Two independent mode-locked Ti:sapphire lasers with broadband semiconductor saturable absorber mirrors operating at different wavelengths were used for the purpose. The up-converted signal between the two laser pulses used to detect phase difference was amplified electrically and input into a PZT driver. The repetition rate of the lasers was set to 119MHz. Analysis showed that the relative timing jitter was reduced to less than 500 fs for 30 minutes.
