Homotopy methods are attractive for finding DC operating points of nonlinear circuits due to its global convergence in principle. In this paper the Homotopy method using a nonlinear auxiliary function is described and implemented for MOS transistor circuits. The implementation is based on the SPICE3 simulator and employs the initial solution and BDF (Backward Differentiation Formula) solution curve-tracing algorithms. The simulation results demonstrate the efficiency, which are compared with the ATANSH-based homotopy method.
