抄録

Carrier traps in ethylene-styrene copolymers were studied by various conduction methods. Specifically, space-charge formation characteristics were studied on the basis of results of DC conduction, TSC (thermally stimulated current), TPC (thermal pulse current) and RIC (radiation-induced current). A model for the trap distribution is presented. According to this model, carriers tend to be trapped in the electrode's vicinity because the number of traps increases. However, if the styrene content increases further, trapping sites begin to act as hopping centers, resulting in an increase in dark and induced conductivities, and in a decrease in TSC.
