It is necessary to meet both efficiency and reliability of power systems operations with regard of electricity demand whilst taking into account voltage stability concerns. The reactive power dispatch problem has been defined and applied with the optimization of these three objectives, which are the minimization of power loss, voltage deviation and power curtailment respectively. Many optimization problems often confronts with multi objectives decision and must choose the best trade-offs for all the specified and conflicted objectives since they are lump into one. Reactive power distribution system design with Distributed Generators (DG) presence is a multi objective problem for which it is uneasy to specify primarily due to faults and uncertainties of future demand. This paper investigates the comparison with having single and multiple objective functions via metaheuristic algorithm known as Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO). Simulation results are demonstrated well in seeking for optimal reactive power injection with regard to voltage stability vicinity.
