N2 - This paper presents a new effective and simple methodology for screening transmission-line maintenance priority. Based on the failure rate of each transmission line, the degree of influence on a system is defined for a system having one-line failure. Using this system influence degree index, we present a methodology to determine the order of maintenance priority. The presented methodology is validated using the IEEE-RST-79 Test System.
