We have developed Ductile Cast Iron Segments, which can be erected automatically and speedily in shield tunnel construction. This segment has new structure joint instead of bolt joint which is difficult to automatize erecting. Segment joint is wedge type 'AS joint', and ring joint is hole-in-anchor type 'Anchor joint'. These joints can be jointed by sliding segment in the direction of tunnel axis and pressing. Moreover, as the bolt box is not needed, inner smoothness and omission of the secondary tunnel lining can be realized. In this report, we will describe about element technique of segment, the concept of design and the result of trial construction in subway tunnel. In the trial construction, erecting man-hour was 51% of that of bolt method segment, and circularity of tunnel has shown the better result.
