Polyethersulfone (PES) is a new thermoplastic material which can be used continuously at 180 C due to its high glass transition temperature. It also has the highest-class resistance to chemicals among amorphous polymers. Thus, PES is expected to be applied in the electrical insulation as well as in various other industrial fields. In this paper, thermally stimulated discharging current (TSC) and dc conduction current measurements were performed to determine the dominant conduction carriers in polyethersulfone.
