The ferroelectric properties of single-crystalline, monodisperse lead zirconate titanate (PZT) nanoparticles were investigated. The monodispersive PZT particles were produced by gas-phase synthesis method. It was observed that the particle-stacked film possessed a remanent polarization of 4.5 μC/cm 2 and an apparent coersive field of 250 kV/cm. The particulate PZT of 9 nm in diameter was found to be retaining ferroelectricity even at room temperature.
