The hydrogen embrittlement of pure titanium (Ti) and Ti-6Al-4V alloy in fluoride solution was examined by hydrogen thermal desorption analysis (TDA). The fracture surface and side surface of specimens were examined with a scanning electron microscope (SEM). Sampling was conducted at 30 s intervals and the heating rate was 100°C/h up to the terminal temperature of 800°C. The formation of sodium titanium fluoride was confirmed on the surface of Ti and Ti-6Al-4V alloy specimens that the breakdown of the protective film on the surface occurs.
