Two theoretical models which can be consistent with each other with regard to the helix-coil transition in the nonstationary regime were investigated. It was shown that the two models exhibited different characteristics, as probed by the power spectrum, the Allan variance, and the autocorrelation analyis of the system order parameter. The result of the autocorrelation analysis was particularly of significance in view of recent T-jump experiments.
