N2 - In this paper, we propose a method to maintain the symmetry of the refractive index about the Au film for the LongRange Surface Plasmon Resonance (LRSPR) sensor. The proposed sensor is equipped with liquid channels under the Au film. Because both sides of the Au film face the analyte, the symmetrical condition of the refractive index, which is necessary for LRSPR excitation, is automatically satisfied. We fabricated the device using microfabrication technology, and verified maintaining of the symmetrical condition by applying five analytes with different refractive indices. The result indicated that the symmetrical condition was kept for the refractive index ranging from 1.331 to 1.358.
