The development of the low-temperature thermally stimulated current (TSC) peak (β) of polyethersulfone (PES) is investigated. The PES films having a thickness of 125μm are measured by the pulsed electroacoustic (PFA) method and the TSC method. The TSC is measured at a heating rate of 2°C/min. The space charge distribution is measured by the PEA method along with the TSC measurements. The results show that the β peak in TSC and the conduction current in PES are mainly caused by impurity ions.
