title = "Meteoritics & Planetary Science special issue on meteoritic events of 1969: Introduction to the introduction",
author = "Fagan, {Timothy J.}",
note = "Funding Information: As associate editor of the issue, I have many people to thank. Hisayoshi Yurimoto suggested a special session commemorating the meteoritic events of 1969 for the 2019 Meteoritical Society conference, and Sasha Krot suggested organizing a special issue for a journal. I mentioned the idea to Tim Jull during a postconference field trip. After email communication with editors, the proposal for a special issue was approved. For much of 2019 and early 2020 I was on sabbatical, which gave me some freedom of time to work on the issue. I would like to thank Tim McCoy, Cari Corrigan, and all of the members of the Department of Mineral Sciences of the Smithsonian Institution Natural History Museum for their kind welcome during a wonderful sabbatical year. I would also like to thank Waseda University for the opportunity to take a sabbatical and for financial support to help defray the expenses of setting up a household overseas. MAPS ",
