MICRODROPLET INNER ROTATION CONTROL BY PARALLEL CARRIER FLOW OF DIFFERENT OILS, SESAME AND SILICONE

抄録

We proposed a method for passive control microdroplet of inner rotation using two different oil parallel flow. A microdroplet formed upstream moves into sesame oil. Then, larger flow velocity at interface of two oil layers generate rotational force in the microdroplet. Microdroplet in the lower oil rotated clockwise while that in the upper oil rotated anti-clockwise. This study will contribute to the efficient creation of chiral molecules for pharmaceutical and materials development, by controlling rotational direction and speed.
