title = "Pre-cooling operation aiming for demand response adaptation in house",
abstract = "Electric load management systems such as Demand Response (DR) are necessary to introduce more renewable energy in Japan. This study focused on the pre-cooling operations used to reduce the electric load in high DR times during summer days. This study aimed to evaluate (1) the effect of electric demand shift by “pre-cooling” and (2) the effect of pre-cooling on residents' comfort, health, and behavior. This paper describes the results of the subject experiment. The average thermal comfort of the subjects who changed their behavior according to pre-cooling increased substantially during the DR period. Pre-cooling behavior LF/HF, which represents the stress level, was significantly lowered.",
