For efficient production of coccolith particles, the effects of several culture conditions on coccolith formation and cell growth by Emiliania huxleyi were investigated. A maximum yield of coccolith particles of 0.61 g/liter/day was obtained. Results demonstrate useful ways to produce large amounts of coccoliths for biotechnological applications. -from Authors
