N2 - An overview is given on several methods for processing the excess data to solve the problem of realizing a bandwidth reservation mechanism of LAN. A resource reservation-type data transfer protocol that provides high QoS for reserved data using one of the methods is proposed. The effectiveness of the protocol is evaluated via simulations.
