It was investigated whether voluntary exercise of wheel rotations in mice gives repressive effect on the incidence of hepatoma due to benzidine administration or not. Benzidine administration was made by food containing benzidine at the concentration of 0.05%. The experimental animals were male mice of ICR/JCL strain. Sixty mice were divided into 3 groups. In case of the exercise group, only one mouse was raised in each cage in which was installed a wheel for exercise, while in case of the non-exercise group, 4 mice were raised in a cage without wheel. These two groups were administered with benzidine. In case of the third (control) group, 4 mice were raised in a cage without benzidine administration. The experiment began at the age of 4 wk and the mice were sacrificed at the age of 34 wk for pathological examinations.
