We fabricated free-standing, flexible and physically adhesive ultra-thin elastomeric films (nanosheets) for application as electronic substrates and packaging films. In this work, electronic elements such as a chip resistor and a chip LED were sandwiched between elastomeric nanosheets of less than 1 μm thickness to obtain electrical conduction in silver lines that were inkjet-printed on the nanosheet. This sandwich-fixation process contributed to the development of an electronic device showing conformable adhesion and operation on the skin surface.
