Recently, the interest in biophilic design and indoor greenery has been increasing. However, the growth of indoor plants may become stunted owing to unfavorable light conditions. Therefore, a method for evaluating the light environments required for indoor plants to thrive is needed. In this study, we verify the accuracy of a spectral irradiance simulation for the evaluation of light environmental conditions for indoor greenery. Additionally, the photosynthetic photon flux density, which is strongly correlated to photosynthesis, is calculated. The growth of indoor plants is evaluated by applying knowledge gained in the field of plant physiology.
