N2 - Polycrystalline samples of KTi1-xNb1+xO5 (x = 0.1, 0.2, 0.3) were synthesized by solid-state reactions. The synthesized compounds were blue-colored, suggesting reduced oxidation states. Single phase KTi1-xNb1+xO5 was obtained for 0 ≤ x < 0.2, suggesting that the solubility limit is between x = 0.2 and 0.3. The reduced oxides exhibited semiconducting behavior.
