N2 - In this paper, we propose a new estimation method for the time difference of arrival (TDOA) between two microphones with improved accuracy by exploiting higher-order moments. In the proposed method analyzes the steered response power (SRP) of the observed signals after nonlinearly mapped onto a higher-dimensional space. Since the mapping operation enhances the linear independence between different vectors by increasing the dimensionality of the observed signals, the TDOA analysis achieves higher resolution. The results of an experiment comparing the TDOA estimation performance of the proposed method with that of the conventional methods reveal the robustness of the proposed method against noise and reverberation.
