title = "Thermal sensation reported by the patients of diabetes and arteriosclerosis obliterans in a hemodialysis room",
abstract = "A questionnaire on patients' thermal comfort during dialysis was conducted in a hospital including 55 patients. They were divided into subgroups. Their thermal sensations were evaluated twice during treatment. Thermal sensation votes of the DM and ASO groups were lower than those of the non-DM and non-ASO groups without any significant differences because of swelling, neuropathy, and congestive heart failure in DM patients and poor circulation in ASO patients. Patients reported higher thermal sensation after the removal of excess body fluid during hemodialysis. The responses of the body parts that felt the 'cold' indicated that DM patients could not perceive local cooling because of neuropathy, while ASO patients could perceive local cooling because of poor arterial circulation.",
